Angry BigBadBlue nearly rock N rolled

Today I went wheelin with Charles (CJsRedRunnerOn35s) Mike (MikeT223) & a not quite yet YT member by the name of Dar. I took fifty pics on my digicam but I learned that if you drop your cam while coming down a muddy trail it does not prove to be healthy and you may lose all stored pics like I did. No pics! So we met up at the base of Horse Lake to air down and see who else would show up being we were expecting Antonio (Choped4runner) & Jeff his Heep friend but they were no shows. After the air down & wait we hit the trail and the mud was prime. We end up getting to this side trail that has a dual side by side run. Charles (CJsRedRunnerOn35s) runs the rutted left trail and I take this harsh angled right trail. He makes it up 3/4s of the way and digs in and I make it up half way when I dig in. I decide to hop over to his trail but then see him backing down and hold up already in the angle to hop over. While waiting for him to back down my front end out of nowhere starts sliding on me down trail. Im thinking "oh chit here we go" but the sliding is slowing and he is now clear of the left trail so I go for it. NOPE! I start spinning from my mud caked tires. and guess what? theres goes my front end again. I am now nearly completly sideways on this already steep trail. Just my luck I am drivers side down and with the weight of my highlift, tool box, bolt box, and sparetire up top I figure im frucked. I hear the guys at the bottom of the trail on the CBs hollering dont move! I am leaning to the pass side but know I need to take action and soon or the slide is going to roll me. I decide my only move is to just romp on it and get to the left trail and thats what I did. After some manuevering I got back down the trail and heard the "dude your crazys" and then theres me saying "did you see that chit". It was mad! We ended up all getting a good run at the LEFT trail and making it up to MUD paradise. We had so much fun in the main valley. but thats my close call for that run. Wish I had pics but I will have to wait for Mike to show me what he got. He took vids so we will see how they turned out. Blue

Cool pics--always like seeing other 2nd gens in action. Are either one of you locked? Doesn't look like it from all the sliding going on.
That would make a huge difference.

I had the same thing happen to me in my old Nissan truck except I slid all the way down the hill sideways . My tires built up mud on the sides as I slid down and near the bottom it caught and I went up on two tires, driver side also. It seemed like I was on two wheels forever and then it finally dropped back down. Scared the s*#% of me. Needless to say I ended up putting on its side a month later on a dirt road. :pat:

WoW thanks guys. MikeT223 took the pics & vids and I am not sure what kind of wheels I have. I got them from CJsRedRunnerOn35s and he doesnt remember what they are. I dont like them so much when they shine but they look sweet MUDDY. Wish my fifty something pics had not messed up. Got a vivitar digicam for Xmas but I need to get a REAL digicam with memory cards and such. But thanks again for the compliments, makes my day. Blue

Did somebody say something about a high center of gravity?

Just kidding, glad you didn't go over.

I have repositioned my tool boxes and will be relocating my bolt box. The highlight looks good on the side of the roof rack but it really makes me tipsy on the drivers side even in town. I wish it wasnt so long or I would slap in on the front or back of my rack. I now know that going taller WILL only make my crazy style of trail runnin crazier. Big Bad Blue is done going up. I think I will start saving up for my gears, rims,MTs,and bumpers. Gee thats only another $2200. But hey its only money right. Blue

Yeah he had his Runner when I met him in 1999. I always thought it was badarse and so in 2001 I bought Blue with plans to make it project Big Bad Blue. I copied a lot that he did but went over board with my roof rack accessories and grill guard. Now its like a race to see who can spend more, and look better. I get more cheers being ive got all the gear up top. Were great buds and I have to thank him for getting me into toyotas. I use to be a nissan boy. Blue

Chris, Just plan plan plan and brouse sites for the best deals. You got tips on how not to go blow your money in a hurry to get what you want like I did. Now find the best deals and make sure its what you want. A lift kit isnt exactly a part you can take off and trade in like I would like to. EBAY!
