22re ECU Year

Hi there, I bought a 91 Toyota Pickup 4x4 and it has a 85 Celica engine in it. I was just wondering if there was a way to know which ECU it is running, Celica or Pickup? Is there a different code on the ECU depending on the year?

Ty!

It could be either one get the part # off the unit.

Depends if they just swapped the electronics from the original engine. or not I think the part # off the igniter would also let you know

There are different ECU's depending on the year. I believe in 89' was the switch to high impedance injectors, if you mix that up you can burn up your ecu. There will be a code on the box.
