22re Rattle noise. Any help would be appreciated.

I've been trying to pinpoint this noise for a month now and am having trouble distinguishing where it could be coming from or what for that matter. Basically when ever I am accelerating I hear a rattling noise coming from my engine. I thought it may be the valves rattling but am not quite sure. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

quite possibly could be your timing chain against the timing cover. take the valve cover off and check the chain with a screwdriver. easy to do and only takes a few minutes

here's what mine looked like:

Thank you for the advise. I pulled off my valve cover and luckily my timing chain was in good shape. I haven't looked to see if it is wrist pin issue yet. I'm sure whatever it maybe I'll find it.

do you know how many miles are on the engine? or what major repairs have been done to it?

It has about 234,000 on the engine. I'm not sure if the previous owner ever did anything major to the enghine. So far all I have done is put on a new alternator and replace the the radiator.

wow that timing chain video is scary. thats what my 89 looked like when i bought it. i have similar rattly noises at certain rpms though and it's not the chain guides, nor the valvetrain. i'm suspecting my tensioner might be sticking and not pushing out enough. if its a wristpin... oh well.
