Okay so I am almost ready to start my truck after doing my swap to the 5mge... but there is one wire that forgot to label coming off the ignitor it is yellow coming out to a single wire green plug and turns to black wire on the other side if anyone could help out it would be appreciated.

 

I'm not positive on this but after reviewing the wiring diagrams for the 85 Supra with the 5M, it appears as though that is the tach signal wire.

i used all the alldata wiring diagrams and the tach signal actually comes off the ignitor as a black wire this comes off the ignitor as a yellow wire then turns to black after the connector. any other possibilities?

 

Are you sure this is the ignitor and not the resistor for the injectors? Sorry if that seems like a dumb question as you seem to know your way around wiring diagrams and these components fairly well.

 

yes it is the ignitor. it just so happens that i mounted the injector resistor next to the coil.
the wires off the ignitor are as follows
Black (Tach)
White & Red (distributor)
Tan (Main Relay)
Yellow (?)

 

here is a little better photo if anyone has done this swap or has a 5mge it would help a lot if you could pop your hood and check
