I'm in the process of getting the A/C on my new to me 89 pickup, to work for the hot AZ summer i have ahead of me. After replacing a fuse and a belt i found that the positive wire from the compressor has been cut right next to the connector and I have searched and searched and i cant figure out where the other end is. My hope here is that someone can post a pic or a great description of where that wire would come out of the (and what) harness.


Seriously? I thought $3k was a good deal.

 

Download the factory service manual and look up the wiring diagrams. I believe that wire is supposed to go to the AC amplifier.

The wire goes inside the bottom of big wire loom

 

on my 87 22RE it comes out of that harness you have right below your hand that runs from the pass inner fender to the engine. as I recall there is little slack and it goes into the harness a lot further up than you'd think.

 

i fished around in the wire bundle above it and found the end. Thanks!
