86 Pickup 22R 4x4 - ongoing project.

I recently bought my first Toyota Pickup, its a 1986 22R 5 Speed 4x4. I will be using this thread to discuss/document the repair/restoration, and to gather information along the way.

Here is the truck,

anyone know what this is for?

That's a SWEET looking truck, i'm a little jealous. That's an engine. It makes the truck go . There's a magnetic coil inside the distributor that triggers the ignition system, that green plastic thing in the middle is where the wire from that coil connects to the wire going the ignitor on the far right side of your engine compartment. Welcome to YT, by the way, you'll find TONS of helpful guys on here that have saved my helpless butt COUNTLESS times.

Thanks, I have been doing a lot of reading on these forums lately, and it seems there is a great bunch of folks here.

Haha, I should have been more specific, I was asking about that connector because it looks like there are 2 hoses coming out of it that are cut off.
