05 Tacoma 17" rims on a 97 4Runner?

I jut got a set of O5 Tacoma 17" rims with 265 70 R17 tires on them and I am trying to put them on my 97 4Runner. They bolt up fine but the inside of the sidwall at the top is 1/4" away from the upper control arm. Is this enough space?

Any opinions are appreciated.....

If it clears it clears. Not like it's going to push in more.

I have put the tires and rims on and just ran them, there appears to be some slight scuffing on the inside side wall. I have 1/4" whell spacers that I can put in. Are there any disadvantages to doing this? Thanks
