Howz it! I have an issue with two fuel lines that run under my intake manifold, its leaking bad! Heavy fuel fumes in the cab and fuel all over the block. I have a service manual and cant find the correct diaphragm. I was thinking about using rubber vacc lines to replace the hard lines. Any ideas? Shoots!

 

By the way 83/4x4/pickup/22r. The lines run from the fuel pump, under the manifold and out to the fuel lines that run to the tank.

 

Kind of looks to me like it's the base of the carb leaking, not the fuel lines, BUT, if you replace fuel lines, replace them with fuel lines! Do no use vacuum hose.

 

And I'm assuming you've tried tightening the hose clamps already.

 

Warning, if you try to remove the hard lines, the bracket they are attached to, is bolted to the bottom of the manifold water jacket. I tried to remove the bracket, broke both bolt heads off and coolant started leaking. Now have to install a heli-coil in the manifold So with that said, I would remove the 2 bolts from the bracket angle that faces down, like in your 1st pic, as the the nuts for those bolts are welded to the hard lines and leave the bracket on the manifold. I learned the hard way.

 

Right on thanks for info and warning. I decided to just replace the hoses that connect to the fuel lines. The truck has more power but the carb's gaskets are still leaking and causing the fumes. I think my carb is a 32/36? But idk where to find the gaskets. It says downey on the top plate and its a weber. I looked all over the net. Im just clueless and kinda new to this.

 

Looks like a Downey air filter on a Weber carb. Still a Weber carb, if it says it's a Weber. I don't have experience with them, but they have a website, and there are a lot of people on this site with them, so you shouldn't have too much trouble finding answers to your gasket questions.

 

Electric choke and an accelerator pump on the outside of this carb indicate that it's not a DCD. It looks like this is a DGV.
