92 toyota "bucking" in 1st gear?

My 92 with 3.0L just started "bucking bad" when starting out in 1st gear, at the same time the idle went from 800 down to 200-300 rpm's and most of the time dies, anyone got any ideas what suddenly caused this?

does it free rev fine? does it only buck at full throttle under a load?

im not well versed in your motor, but it could be a Throttle position senor?
I have heard of coils going bad in a way were you could get bucking under a load, but a coil would run bad in all gears.

Did you do any work right before this bucking started?

Check all your vacuum hoses and air intake tube for cracks, leaks, disconnected, etc.

Check the distributor cap also. Mine 22re was doing that too, but only when it rained. I replaced the cap and rotor button and now its fine.

Thanks guys,
The intake tube was split on the backside!

Now that it's running I am trying to time it, with cap turned all the way one way the most advance I can get is 9 deg, I turned the distributer gear a tooth now the lowest I can get is 16 deg, I'm looking for 12 though it won't let me! Is there a chance I have the wrong distributer in my truck?
