Cold Start injector

I have had a problem wih cold starts for a while, after it's warmed up it's fine and can restart fine. When I start it first thing in the morning it will sputter, check engine light on, then warm up and normal (no light, even restarts when warm).

So, with advice from this forum and the FSM I tested my CSI, I got 111, it is supposed to be between 2-4, so I went to Yota yard and got one, checked it there, 223. Came home, put it on, after not driving it for 2 days and 0F, it started right up. Fixed. I tested it 2 more times, great everything working.

Started it today, 10F, problem is back, exactly the same.

What can make a cold start injector go bad?

Am I just unlucky with the Yota yard part?

Should I just try a new one?

if its suppose to be 2-4 ohm and your old was 111 and the new (used) one is 223 why would you buy one worse than your original?

Also check your coolant temp sensor.

When the CEL comes on, try to pull the code.

The old one was out of spec, less than 2, the new one was within the 2-4 range, so thats why I bought it.

Hello Summit... Just got done doing this. I wound up having to replace my timing switch. The old one tested fine. In my 88 thread you will see what it looks like,it is my very last post. Might just need to pull it and give it a good cleaning.

so old was 1.11 and not 111, and new was 2.23 and not 223?
i'm confused since 1.11 is not 111 and 2.23 is not 223.

Yeah...I'm not too concerned that it would be that far out of spec, pretty straight forward.

as for why replacing it worked for a day or two... maybe you lost some fuel from the line when you swapped it and the trapped air kept it from working?

does disconnecting it help your start issue?

Nothing was misplaced, it doesn't really matter where the zeros are to me, sorry, pretty straightforward once again.

The old one (below spec) was around 1, I don't remember exactly, the new (to me) one from the yard was almost 3, as the specs say between 2-4, that means, the old one was bad and the new one is good.

I bet it would matter if you misplaced some washer shaped zeros in your crankcase.

Punctuation is just like traffic rules. Everyone gets along so much better when everyone follows the rules.

Well, I'd have to agree on that one...
