I think we need pics of this truck.

Your hubs could not be engaging all the way.

X2 on the drive shaft Q.

Your light comes on because the switch for that light is in the transfer case.

ok for some reason im having trouble logging in. but for now the truck is IFS its only a massive mall crawler i dont go in the mud or hit the trails anymore. but i checked to make sure the hubs lock all the way and they do. there is a transfer case test i forgot how its done but i did it like the guy said and transfer case is good only thing i can find is maybe i need new hubs they are still the stock hubs from factory. also i tried to upload a picture but i couldnt get it to do it. so if you have any other ideas for finding the problem with my 4x4 please let me know.

Well its either your hubs, differential or transfer case. If they were all good, then it should work. I think you need to re check everything.

Check to make sure the hubs are engaging, not just that the dial is in the "lock" position. Jack the wheel up, lock it in, then check to see that its locked to the cv shaft. Do the same for both sides.Once that good, keep moving up the chain.

Are they manual hubs, or was it converted from ADD to manual?

sounds like either the hubs are not engaging (even though the dial says they are) or the ADD system isn't properly working.

i would say hubs too, pull the hubs and see if they are for sure engaging. someone had to of changed them over cause in 94 is the add system and those u dont have to lock in the hubs.

put the t-case in 4lo and have someone start to roll forward. lay under the truck and see if the front driveshaft is turning. if not then i would check up front.

Does the driveshaft move when you move the truck. If the driveshaft isnt moving its in the tranny. if it moves its in the hubs or the cV joints are blown. End of story.

Easy check is to put the front tires up in the air and then you can spin all the parts as see what is up. I think you said you have manual hubs, so lock them, t-case in 2H and then spin the front drive shaft and see if either CV axle turns. If so, and the wheel attached to that CV does not spin, then that hub is acting up. Might be simply assembled incorrectly, which is easy to do.

And you can also try turning either CV axle and see if the shaft turns and you can also test the hubs by seeing if the wheel turns if you turn the CV axle.

Best bet is if the Aisin hubs are acting up, rebuild them. They are better than the Warns, won't cost you anything and it is easy to work on them. Some links below:

No. Warn's aren't better.

Why won't your computer let you go to a normal link?
