Aftermarket wheel quality

I have been skeptical of aftermarket wheels because of some past issues I've had with them. For that reason I have stuck to factory alloys on my last two trucks. However, now I may need to consider an aftermarket 16x8 for my Tacoma.

In the past, at some point when running aftermarket rims I have issues with a wheel that wont balance or wobbles. When checked I find it was the rim that was bent, cracked, etc.

I have never had any issues with factory Toyota alloys. The rims I've tried have been Ultras and Eagle Alloys.

A fancy expensive all forged rim is not in my budget. Is there a quality alternative that won't break the bank?

I've had good luck with American Racing and Cragar wheels.

Lots of people do the Crager soft 8 wheels, they are cheap, look decent and made by a reputable company.

maybe the best option for you is newer model Toyota wheels that have been pulled and replaced by someone upgrading to aftermarket alloys.

all toyota truck 6-lug wheels are 6x5.5. try craigslist for someone unloading their OEM 4runner or Tacoma wheels.

i just checked losangeles craigslist for "toyota wheels" and saw three ads right on top for wheel sets under $300. one set was steelies with hubcaps, one set was black painted with A/Ts mounted, and one set was Tundra alloys.
