I was wondering if my 1992 yota 4x4 22re manual lockouts can handle a 6 1/2 plow?? What can I do low cost to help it....I'm gunna use it for a plowing areas Where I can't get my big truck in, which is about 5 or 6 small jobs. It's gunna have to carry it every snow fall about 30 miles and back. Also how much weight eem I gunna need in the back? Any info would help greatly.

The worst part is going to be the 30 mile commute to the jobs. These trucks handle like pregnant water buffalo`s with a plow on. Would it be possible to keep it any where close to the area to be plowed.

Weight I am not sure I would say a good 500 to 600 pounds You could get a few of those sand bags put right over the rear axle. I just kept throwing steel scrap in the back of mine .

As long as you are doing the plowing and take your time you should have no mechanical problems.

If you have plowed snow long enough you know things are going to break.

I would guess a skid steer and a trailer is out of the question

 

yeah itll be fine, i just get a half yard of sand in the back of the pickup so you have weight and if you get stuck you have sand.

 

I plow with my 85 4runner and have never problems. It dose how ever have a hard time in 5th gear. But you really should not drive that fast with a plow anyway

 

My Pops plows with his '83 22r and doesn't have problems. Granted he only plows our paved road and rarely drives further then the nearest gas station.

The front is sitting on the bump stops, so don't expect a comfortable ride.
