availability on 1979-83 floor pans
#1
I, like many others, have searched the internet for a company that reproduces floor repair panels for our trucks. There are companies that sell panels to repair other types of vehicles, but not our Toyota's. Why is that?
On my recent search I came across a company: http://c2cfabrication.com/
and sent them an email asking on their thoughts on a floor for the older Toyota's.
Here is that email:
Harold,
If we had some originals sent to us so we're able to make a pattern then we would be able to reproduce them.
Michael Laiacono
Classic 2 Current Fabrication
www.c2cFabrication.com
Now if somebody has a rust free cab that was maybe in a roll over or have no use for it, maybe they could contact this company to see if panels could be produced. I know they would sell along with other cab repair parts.

we we're going to do these YEARS ago , for all the models , even did a "market survey" on this board .
problem came down to price , the community thought is was just not feesable for the cost , so we dropped the idea

Did Harold give you a price he was gonna charge per floorboard?
It takes time, money etc to market, make and keep an inventory of parts..
What are you basing your marketing on besides ' I know they will sell?"

i have weled 4 different roof's on my cab and patched the floor numourous times the toyota body is such a pain to weld on because even the un rotted metal is very thin, i like to cut out the bits of rot and Rivet new piece in and weld where it's possible, i have also added wide aluminum pieces on top and underneath the body mounts so that when the body is bolted down it's clamping onto about an 8"x8" square pad of the cab instead of the factory roughly 2" circle that rots out, as much as replacement panels would be nice it is really jsut too much of a pain, now if your company offered a fully aluminum cab?? or bottom tub that would be another story, although i do not know how many would sell , but it would make a yota MUCH more lively,, I should build one...........

lay down a piece of sheet metal rivet the heck outta it , and beat it like it deserves with a hammer and nut and bolt a piece for your pedal back on , or lay a piece of flatbar down across that part of the floor and beat it into shape and refasten the pedal in
