Wiring issues?

I am building a buggy and I am having an issue trying to find out which wires go where? The engine and wiring harness is from a 1987 carburated truck.

I think I have the alternator figured out but please correct me if I am wrong.

Alternator:
Large white wire = battery +
Med white wire = battery +
Yellow wire = amp gauge
Red with double blue slashes = ignition

The coil is the big problem. All of the FSM's I have found only deal with EFI engines. So I need some help here as well.

Coil/igniter:
Black with red slashes = ???
Black with solid red line and red slashes = ???

Thank you, Phessor

Thank you for the links. But all I could find where FSM's for EFI models. I still need to find one for the carburated version.

This should do it for you, it's for an 86, but the wire colors look to be the same. On the igniter diagram, IG2 is on the ignition switch and the B/R wire goes through a noise filter and then to ground after it branches off to the igniter.
