cold start injector?

I think my cold start injector has failed.

When the motor is warm and shut off, restarts fine and easy.

In the cold mornings it starts easy, but runs really rough for a few seconds with check engine light on until I give it a little gas and then it runs fine.

Questions:

1: does this sound like a cold start injector problem?

2: will it damage my motor running like this if I cannot afford a fix right away?

THANK YOU TO ANNYONE FOR SOME INFO

that doesnt sound like a cold start injector, but one way to know for sure is unplug it and see if it starts harder when cold, when i unplugged mine it took like 10 seconds of cranking before mine would start. it sounds more like erg or something down that line.
