Truck not starting?

Hey guys, So I posted a similar question the other day but not i have new problems going on. Everybody who replied to my question was a huge help and any other information is greatly appreciated.

So I have an 88 pickup 4x4 v6 efi, and it only happened once before but its happened twice now in a few days where the truck just wont start in the morning when i get in to it. battery gauge is at around 10-11 (normally i run 14-15) and all my grounds look pretty good to me. I took out my starter and used a dremel to clean up the contacts; however, they already looked like they were in very good condition.

last night i took my rad out to fix a hole, and replaced a belt and such but i didn't touch the battery and i put the rad back in today and it wouldn't start, even with a push start going at a good speed (normally the push starts works!) so i got my buddy to tow me up a steep hill a couple times but nothing, my cd deck and in dash clock are hardwired to my battery and they still worked fine.

I tried jumping it and it took me turning the key for about 15 seconds for it to finally start up. Why won't it jump start and why is this even happening? Any advice is greatly appreciated!! thanks ya'll

Might try this:

And is the starter cranking the engine over? If not, try this:

Well it's not a fuel pump or a 22re so that rules out the first one but thanks, i don't have a voltmeter nor can afford one right now but that would definitely help me next time so ill try to go borrow one, Thanks for the help man, I just don't see what else it could be than the starter, grounds, or battery

Applies to a V6 as well. Last I checked, they were EFI and have an electric fuel pump and the same circuit to turn it on.

Handy to have tool and they cost very little. Not sure if there are Harbor Freight stores in Canada, but if so:

Often that one is on sale for US$2.99, I try and grab a few at that price. Almost not worth replacing the batteries when they die at that price.

I guess while we are on the subject of trucks not starting and whatnot, i also have a question that i don't think is too stupid and unimportant enough to start a thread. Sometimes when I go to start my truck in the morning, the starter clicks once or twice, then it will start. When it does start, it sounds like the starter is turning really slowly. It happened in the summer and I just added water to the battery and it went away for a while. It is happening again so I guess I'll add more water to it I guess. Before I added water, I let it sit and checked the voltage drop so I'll have to do that too. The only reason I'm saying this is to get your suggestions. Should I just buy a new battery?

Sounds like your battery is not only shot, but archaic. I've owned vehicles from a 1985 4Runner to my 2011 Tacoma and have never had a battery that I needed/could add water to.

I would seriously consider replacing the battery.

Ok, I thought so. And yeah, I've noticed that they did away with the terminals that you can open up. I guess they did that so they can make more money. If you can't open the terminals to do whatever you need to do to fix them then the only choice you have is to go buy a new one. Sneaky sneaky xD
