Anyone got a link to the proper sizes of the timing chain cover bolts. I am having a hell of a time figuring it out.

 

 

Now he will need to convert the English measurements to Metric

I need a M8 x 1.25 2 1/2" long

 

I have a feeling he took em out and don't know where they go back.
Tape measure works wonders in that case.

 

had too many hands in the pot, Ive measured all the bolts according post above and none of it adds up. Im trying to drop the oil pan also and it is being a pain. any tips on the motor mounts. trying to jack it from the tranny, but it aint movin, I took the two bolts off on outboard sides of each mount and the motor wont lift a inch. Ive replaced the cam timing chain all associated hardware rocker arm assy, new timing chain cover. Im getting frustrated as hell with this damn thing. just got to get that oil pan off so I can make sure I got all the debris out of it. I think PO had wrong bolts installed to begin with

 

Each motor mount has two bolts...for a total of 4.

 

What does this mean exactly? I did not have to do anything but lower the front diff.

 

x2. I dropped my oil pan in the middle of a field only dropped the front diff, did not remove it. I also took off the steering stabilizer shock. It was still a little bit of a pain, you just got to wiggle it the right way. You will have to remove the oil pickup in order for it to come out though.

If this is an auto trans forget even thinking of lifting/tilting the engine by undoing the engine mounts, it's just not gonna work and you will crush the heck outta those trans lines above the trans against the trans tunnel.

 

Anybody got any links to a OEM hardware site for the my 87 runner. I want to do this right. I pretty much figured the PO had wrong H/W installed. Im looking For all the timing chain cover bolts. Any help will be appreciated. Do you think the Dealer will carry them? I got the damn oil pan off last night. Glad I did too I had a lot of chunks of the old timing chain cover in there.

 

Ordered all the bolts from the dealer. 25 bucks later. They will be here in the AM. I will post a updated pic with all correct H/W. All right so tonight I am going to clean the hell out of my oil pan and the bottom of the block. This timing chain sure has got the deneros adding up. So far the Truck will have a new cam, new rocker arms, rails, and springs. New water pump, new timing chain assy, and a new cover. Hope to get most of it put back together tomorrow night.
