87 toyota ext. cab slow build up

i got an 87 toyota ext. cab. i just got some 35s for it and it looks great, but i want to try and get a little more power.
i have the 22R but dont know what i could do to get more power?

And any preferences on what i should do next to it? i am planning on an sas to hopefully help with stretch, i do not have very much stretch as is with ifs.
and a little bit of a lift, then bumpers and winch?

new to this, love toyotas, but would love to learn more.

Don't look at the 22r as a powerplant-
35's need 5.29's

Stretch?? Do you mean flex? Articulation?

Definitely re-gear with that big of tires...shouldn't have too many problems after that though...22r and re are both really good motors.
