2UZ-FE (2000 Tundra 8 cyl) reliability?
Recently came across a 2000 Tundra for a decent price. I'm in the market for a Toyota to tow a 3k trailer, and when it comes to price, so far this Tundra is less expensive than a lot of Tacoma's I've seen. Obviously Toyota's got an awesome rep for many motors they've developed, but with the 2uz-fe being derived from a Lexus, how reliable is this motor? Googling and searching forums doesn't turn up squat. It's been in the running for a decade now, how many miles are these things racking up before seeing serious internal issues?
I understand most of it depends on maintenance, but we all know with the 5vzfe unless it's over 200k, someones going to snatch it up just because of its proven reliability.

Only thing ive noticed with those at the shop is water pumps going out at about 120k.
One guy replaced his about 150k ago, no issues at all.
He has almost 300k on it now, has run nothing but our house oil 5-30. No leaks, no apparent sludge, and only uses about .5 quart between his 5000k oil changes.
He hauls campers back and forth to different dealers throughout the state.
