Ok, looked up some prior threads, but this one has me stumped. On my bro's 99 Limited his Cig lighter and front 2 12v outlets don't work. BUT, the rear 12v works just fine. Does this mean that all 3 in the front need to be replaced because the "internal fuse" is blown in them??? Thanks in advance!

 

Probably, unless the PO modified the rear outlet to a separate full time connection. Time to get your test light and test the 12V+ wires to each socket rather than asking the internet. Pulling the center fascia takes about thirty seconds if you've done it a few times.

Somewhere there is a how-to on bypassing the fusible link. People had non-protected sockets, relying just on the fuses, for a long time, but obviously you are incurring some additional risk.

bypass the fusible link. i just soldered a wire in place of the "fuse" on the back of the socket

 

I had to do this on my old '90 Xtracab.
A compressor blew the link.

I do not see a reason for that link as long as the line has a fuse for it.
