Make a long story short: Rear suspension has 2wd Chevy 63 inch springs, overload leaf removed, sky manufacturing 6 inch shackles and hangars, 6 deg shim from Roger Brown to correct pinion angle and eliminate driveline vibration. Front IFS has 1.5 inch BJ spacers and slight torsion bar crank, 1 inch differential drop.

My rear is almost 2 inches higher measured at the tires than the front. I think my options are:

1) Weigh down the bed and attempt to wear down the chevies, which came from the junk yard and I were not very worn. Springs have been on for a year and have not sagged so far.

2) Cut the rear springs off and move them forward to increase the shackle angle, check out my attached pic for current shackle angle.

3) Remove shackles and replace or redrill holes for hanger 1 inch lower, this will lower and I believe improve my shackle angle.

Ride is great in the back, ride up front is not as good. New shocks installed all around as well. Will shortening my shackles worsen my now very nice ride?

you could overload the truck and ride around for a day, but if the rear already feels great, that doesn't sound like an effective solution.

i'd recommend drilling the shackles, or replacing them if you don't want a "nub" sticking down below the springs. 6" is a little long. redrill and drop it an 1", 1.5" max. and you should be good to go. but then if you don't like the ride, you can switch right back.

This is the way I was leaning. I was actually going to drill the top part as the shackles will clear the frame rail and bumper bolts, and I won't have anything below. Some folks seem to like the rake, I don't particularly. I recently added the shim and the extra 1 inch is too much, IMO.

LOL on the "binder clip technique". A couple of years ago I was on a road trip far from home when the shroud that protects the CAT on my wife's accord partially let go. I used one of those clips to temp fix it and did not have to mess with it for the rest of the winter. Those things kick ass, essential tool in any off road recover kit, LOL>.
