Just purchased a 92 runner and it had sat for almost a year...., problem is it cranks but wont start. Would the problem be bad gas? Possibily need the fuel filter replaced? Any suggestions? I am picking it up Sunday, and its located 2 hours from my home and would much rather drive it home than trailer it.

 

Check that you are getting spark and fuel. Is this a 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder?

 

Its a 6...., really hoping for an easy fix

 

I am pretty clueless, kinda going at this blindfolded so to speak but I could not pass up the price I bought this runner for and is in awesome shape, besides the starting issue lol. But this seems to be the perfect place to ask advice on it, and also where do I get a toyota parts catalog?? having hella time finding one that has parts for older runners ...., planned on replacing the catback system

 

If the gas has been in it for a year, that could definitely be a problem. Drain tank put fresh gas in. (there should be a drain plug on the bottom of the gas tank) Might as well replace the fuel filter too. Even if it's not the issue, it certainly will be in the near future.
