Apparently the runner has an 81 rear end in it. My buddy took the wider one and stuck it under his truck and gave me the 81 that he had layin around. Any difference between this and say an 85 rearend? (since I already know that the 88 one was wider and a lil stouter)

I believe the 81' came with 3.90 gear ratio, where the 85' would have 4.10's... Good luck with your new 4runner!

Some thoughts for the runner.
Im tryin to decide what transfercases I want to run. I would like to run duals. I can make duals out of a NP203 and a NP 205 or I can run dual Toys.

The adapter for the NP's cost like $700. It is a clockable adapter and I dont need another adapter to put the Toy cases to the C4 or C6.

Marlin MC07 XD is $329 0 deg or 10 deg dont matter. The trans to xfer from Advanced Adapters is $600. NWOR does have an adapter but there is no price on their site. Might have to call them.

Then a B&M floor shifter for the C4 is gonna be $200ish from Summit.

Then, do I try to sell the 81 rear end and buy a stouter Ford 9" to hold up to the power of the V8? The front axle, I hope, is going to be a 9.5 out of a Land cruiser.

Anyone have some input?

I have made up my mind. I am goin with the NP xcases and I am gonna run 60s. Just go all out. Thats where I wanna end up anyway sooo why not jus go there. It will take me some time but she will get there. Gonna start pullin parts off of it this week and sellin what I can get rid of to build up my bank.
