ARB winch bumper install help needed, got directions?

I have an 86 IFS 4runner and an ARB winch bumper, part 3414070. Does anyone have a write up and/or instructions on how to install this? Looking at it, the mounts to the underside of the frame dont align. TIA.

It replaces the front bumper so remove that and all the brackets and remove the apron/valance under the bumper so remove that and all it's end brackets because you don't need any of that stuff, remove the skid plate also (it goes back on later) and remove the front hook under frame on the one side and if no hook but the round thingie on other side take that off also (ARB Bumper uses the bolts) and get a jack and lift it up in front of the truck after removing those 5 OEM items, take out the marker/turning signals from your OEM bumper and install into the ARB bumper, I never bought a new ARB bumper so not sure if they already have the captive nylon/plastic pop in thingies for the screws to hold the turning signals, if not take them off old bumper and put them in the ARB, should be 4 of them, and don't tighten screws to tight, just snug them up or you'll crack the amber lenses. Lift the bumper up and after that it should be self explanatory on where the holes align, there are 2 on the front cross member not sure if bumper bracket bolts are long enough, you might have to go to ACE and gets some longer ones and the 4 under the frame from the hooks that were removed and they can be put back on also using the same bolts that held them on before, I think you can handle it, it's not hard adding items that really are already set up for your model, getting a set of clear turning signals would look cool, there around 30 on ebay. There are holes on the ARB by where the hooks go back on so to remount the skid plate, Good luck and take lots of pics if you want, it must not be hard or there would be tons of write-ups with pics and instructions, I think you'll be fine :}

Ps. one posting I read said something about wing mounting brackets on ARB needs to be bent out of the way for the 86-89 rigs, not sure what he means there were no pics, but here is the posting...

On the first gen trucks, the bumpers have those wing brackets that pick up the bumper mounts on the side of the front subframe. Those are not used on the first gen trucks. We have to cut our bumper mounts off to get the thing on the rig. Those wing brackets actually hit the front body mounts, but nowhere in the instructions does it say to bend them out of the way, and who wants to bend stuff on their brand new bumper?

Here is the bumper removed. Finger pointed shows two OEM bumper mounts. These prevent the ARB from being mounted. Even if I were to cut these, I am not sure they would be aligned. From the underside, it appears that the ARB wont line up with the frame rails though.

Sorry dude I forgot about those, been since 98 I had that gen. toy apart in the front, I remebered the lower 2 threaded captive nuts on the cross member, Oh I remember why, they were damaged in the wreck I had (T-bone a car in intersection) and I replaced them wth angle iron to attach the bumper horn attachment points, You got me on that one, I guess I would cut the ones off the cross member frame, they can be replaced like I mentioned with angle iron and if you notch the bumper you'll weaken it...

This part number will fit the following makes/models:

Toyota Pickup1986-1995: Modifications required. Call ARB for details: (888) 427-2872. Requires OE indicators from a '89-'94 Pickup, these indicators are not supplied with bumper.

I cut off the two pieces that were on the crossmember. Then it mounted fine. I also contacted ARB before that and got their special instructions. Its now mounted.

Yes you need to cut off the 2 pieces that stick up with the holes in them (holds the stock bumper on).
