well i didnt do the engine swap. at first glance i thought my leaf springs were so shot that there wasnt enough clearance but then i was lookin online at new oil pans and saw the 4x4 one and the 2wd one were different. i thought it was pretty funny that the guy who did the engine swap had the right oil pan on the dead engine just didnt swap them... makes me wonder what other "funny" surprises ill find. perhaps my transmission is on backwards

Things like this make me cringe. Hopefully, he didn't touch much else.

I rebuilt an 83 2wd 22r for my 81 4x4 and I had to swap the pan and oil pickup but like you said I don't know why he didn't swap them off the dead one. Does yours have a lift, cause if I remember mine woudn't even fit without swapping the pan.

i dont have a lift just 32 inch tires and really saggy leaf springs which probly aided in the destruction of my oil pan. i wish i had read you're post before i tried to swap the pan. i just got back from takin my pan off and realizing the pan doesnt fit over the 2wd oil strainer now im having a real hard time finding just the oil strainer sub assembly without the entire oil pump assembly. guess i could go to pick and pull but then i dont have the gasket for the strainer what a pain. its my daily driver guess im riding my bike to work until i find one. is it a bad idea to leave my oil pan off the truck while i look for this new part?

oops found one lcengineering durp
