Traded my way through the world

Ive been on this site for a while now, and i have yet to share my story. i am 17 and turning 18 at the end of the month. in the last year, i have had 4 toyotas myself and 6 total if you include my girlfriends. when i was 16 i bought a 97 saturn sc2 5 speed for 1700 cash. i had it for about 6 months and wanted a toyota. i asked just about every possibly lifted toyota ext cab 3rd gen to trade and finally got a yes. i traded the car, after stripping out the whole stereo subs and speakers, for a 1990 toyota ext cab 4x4 v6 with 280k on body and god knows how much on the motor on 31s with a 3 inch suspension lift.

i had and loved that truck for about 6 months then i wanted something bigger. nothing ever broke and it was super reliable. i traded it for a 91 4runner with a 5 inch suspension lift (maybe 4.5?) with 162k on body 10k on motor, tranny and centerforce clutch. it had full security and the cleanest body ive seen for a 91. there were custom mossy oak camo sub boxes and full security, i then put in hids and more stereo stuff and new 5.29s. i also traded my truck for it knowing that it had a starting issue when it was warm. it would turn over just not start. i missed having a truck really bad within about a month but no one was interested in the runner, then i found a trade.

i traded it for a 1993 sr5 ext cab v6 4 inch suspenion 3 inch body lift and i got to keep my new hankook dynapor mts. new 20k crate motor with reciepts, nice interior, it had a few dings but i loved it. it wasnt geared so it was GUTLESS on anything even close to an incline. after having it for a few weeks i posted it on craiglist and someone hit me up and offered my 5k cash if they could take it home that night. i took them up on the offer and got to keep my sub, amp, tool box and hids i got 5000 cash and an hour later i was checking out my buddies rig that he couldnt sell.

heres the best part of the story. i took the cash from the previous night and bought this:
1991 toyota ext cab dlx
3.4 full swap no leaks whines or any problems cleanest motor ive seen 80k on motor with under 1000 on rebuild(check engine light on so licensed toyota mechanic full inspection proved flawless)
new centerforce clutch
SAS with an 85 front end swap with a full rebuild
locked in rear
4.10s
sr5 cluster swap.
racing tach on dash
cb
Chrome alloy axle shafts
dif armour
extra leafs to lift
axle truss
shock hoops
35 inch toyos ok tread
rhino lined
CLEAN bobbed bed
Put MY HIDS IN IT
Bed load full of extra parts

and more when he gives me full parts list.
i scored all that for 5000 cause he needed money to pay off his 09 sti which is now 100% his. this truck has so much power, it can roast tires in 4th gear (when it had 5.29s). i will add a picture of the new sasd truck in my drive way as well as a picture starting from the saturn ending with my new toy

sucks that he pulled the 5.29's and dropped 4.10s back in...he probably got 500 for the two thirds...

Great story! With that kind of creativity and ingenuity, I think you could have a great future as a car wholesaler = $$$.

yeah, he got a welded rear 4.10 rear and open front and a couple hundred bucks. as you can tell from spending 12 grand and selling for 5k he needed money.

leaky valve cover really. it just needed gears more than anything, i couldnt take it out of town unless i literally had all day cause on hills it was gutless. i loved the look of it, and i sold it and lost my hankooks with amazing tread and awesome rims :/ but gained a 3.4 and an sas done right so i think it was worth it
