Question Opinions from you guys?

Excuse me if this is in the wrong forum, I didn't think it necessarily applied to the TECH section.

I've decided that Imma have me a Toyota 4x4 and I've found one on the local Craigslist:

http://memphis.craigslist.org/cto/2512901143.html

Yeah, the ad is kind of bare, but I emailed him and asked a few questions about the truck. And turns out the guy isn't the original owner(bought it off the original, he says, a few months ago). It's also missing the right side mirror, with no A/C, and it has an automatic. I know that last one isn't much of a problem, but I would still prefer a manual. But it does have a rollbar(bonus), a clean and crackfree dash, judging from the pictures, and low miles. So basically, is this truck worth it, at ~5500? Tomorrow I will test drive it and my father and I will inspect it inside and out. Assuming it is rust free, runs well with no leaks or anything, is ~5500 reasonable?

Other similar Toyota's on eBay are noticeably cheaper so is this guy trying to sucker someone or is it truly a rare find? I know you guys can't make assumptions off my limited resources, but maybe a guesstimate? The current owner emailed me these pictures, and until I see the truck tomorrow in person, your guys' guess is as good as mine.

Thanks for any input ahead of time, and again, excuse me if I violated any forum rules or anything that I might have overlooked.

I apologize for double posting this, disregard the first one.

In my opinion, NO WAY, i see many newer toyotas on craigslist for that price or cheaper. Any toyota will last you a long time with little problems but if you wanna save a little money search some more and dont be afraid to travel a little bit for that "right" truck

Well, the c-list posting was deleted by the author, so.... did you buy it.
Not to discourage you if you did, but although it appears to be a very clean truck, $5500 seems pretty high. That truck would probably go for about half that in my area.

I eventually went and drove the truck and talked to the guy and all.. offered him $4500 as a max and he said he had another offer of $5200, which I thought he only said to drive up my price. I didn't budge from the price and walked away with my head up..

But turns out he didn't have another offer.. KNEW IT!

Only difference in this ad is the $200 price drop.

"I garuntee u will not find a cleaner better running 85 4x4 Toyota"... I garuntee there are many cleaner, better running 85 4x4 Toyotas for a better price.

sounds like he just wants the money. Kinda overpriced, but on the east coast i could see someone buying it at that price. Just not me.

Keep looking though, i got my 88xtra cab for $300, its a buetiful truck, just didnt have the title, and i'm quoted $700 for a title, so that comes out to 1k.

Just keep looking, that "right truck" will pop up one day

I've seen a couple really nice ones go in the 4k range. You can tell that guy is totally fishing for a price. "Testing the market" = wasting your time. And for 5k, i'm driving around the 3rd gen with A/C. Literally, I had 5k to spend and bought a 2wd 4runner to drive to work that is cherry and an old beat up t100 to take fishing.

Pretty hilarious that he has four new mud tires on a truck that's "never seen mud." For that kind of money, I'd look for a cheap one way ticket to the southwest and buy a rust free Yota and drive it home-after renewing my AAA membership.

I'll agree. You dun good. 85s are one of the most desireable, but nicers ones can be had for the same money. Or similarly equipped for less money.
