1986 4runner body on 1985 4runner frame?

Whats up fellas. Sorry for another body swap question. My first original plans with doing a pickup body on 4runner chassis didnt quite work out. I didn't want to open up a can of worms, so I ditched that idea.

Anyways, I came across a really good condition (body wise) 4runner with a bad v6 engine. It is also 5speed. I was thinking about swapping it onto my 1985 4runner that already is already built (gears, lockers, lift, 22re-t).

My main concern is that one is a v6 and the other is a 4 cylinder. Im thinking that alls I need to do is make sure I use all the 4 cylinder wire harness/coil/ecu components and install that on the v6 body. What Im not sure is if the v6 body harness will accept the 4 cylinder engine harness. Any opinions or info would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

I dealt with the harness a couple of times. Never swapped like you mentioned, but dont see why they would fit. It is a fair amount of work.

If the 4Runner has a V6 in it, its not an 86 4Runner, its an 88 or early 89 4Runner. The body swap should work, but you will need to swap your wiring harness over to the new body for everything work.
