22RE horrible gas mileage

So here's my situation. My 1993 truck is a single cab and RWD with the 5 spd. The gas mileage has never been good, but it's really been annoying me with gas prices recently. I've only been driving it for a year, so I mean most parts are still stock.

I tanked it to the full and put on 60 or so miles on it. The tank is half gone though. That's pretty terrible mileage. The idle is fine and everything though.

So what should I be looking at? I read around and it seems a lot of people say vacuum leaks are suspect.

There has never been anything leaking from behind my car. If I leave it sitting, the only thing that drips is the AC.

Lets start with the basics, when was the last time you gave your truck a complete tune up ?. I would start there first, Change the oil and filter, distributor cap/rotor, plugs and plug wires, fuel filter, and the 02 sensor. Use all OEM parts. If the 02 sensor is original and it has a lot of miles on it - it can go bad and cause poor gas mileage. If you replace it buy a Denso OEM replacement, DO NOT buy a Bosch 02 sensor, they don`t work very good in toyotas.
Other things to check would be the timing and valve adjustment.

I changed the oil not too long ago. I'll begin with the O2 sensor in this case.

Thanks.
