aftermarket intake tube with stock airbox

anyone use an aftermarket intake tube with the factory airbox? i keep seeing these cheesy intakes on ebay for like $35 bucks, and ive been thinking about using the tube and trimming it to fit with the factory airbox. ive seen the isr mod, but id rather replace the whole tube to smooth out the airflow. ive done a search but havent come up with anything.

You should do it and be the first. I will be doing the same thing soon. The $ is the problem for me.

All ready done. Used a piece of aluminum from a HKS twin kit and some silicone couplers. I have a pick that I can put up tomm.

lemme guess from a supra tt kit? i could probably ask one of my friends to weld a 45 degree elbow and some pipe, but i figured it would be easier just to buy an intake elbow. i even thought about using a honda civic intake, the bend looks the same.

You got that right. I'll be selling mine as soon as I buy the E-manage, so I can use my homemade airbox with the Supra TT MAF.
