Painting my top

So this is my first thread so bear with me, I recently bought a new top for my black 87 4runner only problem is that the top is red. I already sanded all of the red paint off and now have just the white fiberglass. Today i purchased all the materials to do the roll on rustoleum paint job. This is my first time painting anything automobile related and I want it to come out looking great. Any advice would be helpful. One thing that I am unsure about is the wet sanding so any advice on that would be great. Thanks

Not too sure if you would actually need to wet sand. I would have just used some scotch brite to scuff it up then clean it really well and you should be good.

I'd hit it with a RED scotchbrite and call it a day. You don't want to be breathing in all that fiberglass so I wouldn't sand it much, just smooth out rough spots. Rustoleum SATIN paint looks great on the hard tops, not flat but not shiny and it goes on the same texture, very smooth.
