I am very impressed with the design and the fitment.

i no longer have worries about my front diff, steering rack, tranny or t-case anymore, these plates cover all the essentials.

I do hope you were being safe and using wheel blocks behind your back tires while your rig was up on those ramps... A good friend of mine had his up on ramps just changing the oil, manual tranny popped out and e-brake was not down, almost killed him. Luckily his wife knew how to work a floor jack and was close by to hear him scream before he passed out.

Those plates look awesome! I'm not sure how much you need those down south, but they do look like they would drain pretty well.

How long did it take you to install the plates and were the mounting bolts supplied? Thanks.

 

depends:

the front plate uses stock bolts.

the rear plate attaches to the front with supplied bolts. it attaches to the frame with 1/2" M13 x 2.5" bolts and washers. you need to buy 5 bolts, 10 washers, 5 lock washers. (about $10)

the plates are heavy, so its a PITA to install. you definitely need a floor jack.

best way: attach two plates together. attach rear plate to frame loosely. attach front of front plate to frame loosely. attach the all the middle bolts loosely. make sure the plates are correctly in place. tighten all bolts.

it takes some muscle to align some of the holes but if you keep your bolts loose, light taps with a hammer works great.

approx 45 mins to install.

 

Do you have to remove them to change the oil?

 

there is a hole in the plate for the drain plug, put the plate is prob gonna have to be at least partially removed to access the filter.

 

It is very rare that I see work that I am truly impressed with (especially the welding on sliders from all the rookies) but those skid plates are top notch hands down. Congrats to TC for making a truly perfect skid plate.
