PS stock cooler?? Unexpected find during swap

Guys, I have a strange question. I have a 3.4 swap, and the old PS pump (from 3.0) wasn't handling the Detroit up front very well at all. So I'm replacing it with a PSC pump kit. But, as I was tearing it down, I ran into something I didn't expect. It looks like a heat exchange box that sits on the frame rail below the pump. Return line from the PS runs into it and then into the reservoir. There are some coolant lines running into the side. I haven't heard of this and didn't expect this development. Now I'm not sure what to do with it. Just leave it be and let the coolant keep running through it?

This is a pic of it after the pump was removed. Sorry if this is a newb question.

Yes that is the ABS actuator......otherwise known as "big leaky POS".

I removed mine when I did my 3.4 swap and ran the brakes the traditional manner. One line to the rear with a T to both wheels. You would need to replace your pressure line from the PS pump to the box, and reo the brakes lines to bypass the actuator.

I also removed the LPSV in the rear at the same time. No ill effects.

Ok, the feed line from the PS pump runs straight to the steering box. The return line is what used to go into that ABS actuator. I really don't understand why the PS line would run into an ABS actuator. Weird. I can either run the return from the steering box directly back to the reservoir, or I can run it back through the actuator. I wish I knew what all was done during the swap that occured a couple years before I bought it.
