Need some clutch advice

Well im working on putting a VW TDI in an 1988 4runner using the W56 and I need to order a clutch to go into the setup. I was going to order the marlincrawler 1600lb HD clutch because I know the 1200lb wont hold the torque after I do a few mods.

Well it turns out the 1600lb kit is backordered with no ETA because the factory in japan was damaged during the earthquake.

Hmm...well I was thinking of going for the 1600lb ceramic 6 puck HD kit but I have heard that the ceramic clutch hate to slip at all and this is gonna be my DD. Can anybody confirm the 1600lb ceramic kit to be a bitch?

Anybody else have an idea where to find a nice HD clutch kit??

Cheers

Correct. I read it straight from the mouth of BigMike on another forum.

I read that exact thread not so long ago. I hope there is another option because clutches that act like a switch are the worst...

it wasnt a ceramic clutch, but i did use a 6 puck type clutch disc and hated it. Its behavior seemed very much like it is made to just dump the clutch at take off, no slipping. It would chirp and hop like crazy. Plus it only lasted 15k miles and I was back down there replacing with a marlin clutch (which has been great so far)
