rust problems
i know rust is heavily discussed here, but my rear tailight covers (came on the car with the brush guard) have rust spots. this has spread on one side in the form of a very very small dot on the back (trunk) door.
what should i do? I know how to get rid of the rust on the door, no problem, but can I buy JUST rear tailight covers to replace them?
if so, anyone know where or have some they wanna sell to me?
thanks.

Surface rust is easy to deal with. Use a dremel or something to strip down to clean metal, paint with an anti-rust primer, paint with touch up paint, buff. As far as the taillight gaurds go, I don't have em but want em, try 4wheeelparts, performance products or jc whitney. Also, if the rust on them has not gone all the way through the metal you can repair them. My brushgaurd rusted after only onw Ohio winter so in March I removed it, sanded it with sandpaper some, took off the surface rust, primed and painted with two cans of industrial strength Krylon enamel in flat black. I like the color now much better and if I scratch it up it takes 5min. to touch it up. When I get tail light gaurds and rock sliders I am painting them the same color, as well as my bumpers and valence when it gets warm, that paint I used just kicks surface rusts ass. Good luck.

Lee,
I have nothing to add to this thread but wanted to say, from an artistic viewpoint, who ever designed your website did a GREAT job ... very clear, clean and balanced. Good work.
