Ok, I have a chance to pick up a 1985 22re that has been converted to a carb with 90k on it. Solid leak, smoke, and knock free motor. I know I can use my upper and lower intakes to convert it back to fuel inj but my question is the 85 22re short block the same? Motor mounts and transmission holes lines up with the 92?? Also, I am pretty sure I can, but can I use the 92 dizzy in the 85 head?

most 85 22r/22re long block are the same as any up to 95, 22re. there is some overlap in 84-85 where earlier 84 were put in 85 chassis and such.
if you're taking an R (carb) and changing it to RE (injected) make sure you can get the fuel pump block off plate.

it will work as long as you use all of your old sensors from the 92 engine. The dizzy will fit into the head as well and will work. Again as long as you convert it back over to EFI.
What it may or may not have is a location for the knock sensor and/or power steering stuff. If it was already an RE motor like you say, then it should still have the provision for the knock sensor and might have to deal with the power steering stuff in the head if it came from a truck with manual steering.
