1st Gen 4runner sr5 alarm?

I picked up my 88 sr5 A month ago, and while I was replacing the Driver's Seat (that happened to fall apart on me on the drive home), I noticed an alarm module under the carpet.. and a little switch the flashes very fast on the dash... I've done a lil searching and have found nothing on the forums similar.. does anyone know if I can find a FOB for this? Or knows ANYTHING about it? Thanks for your input.

didn't even notice the pic of the alarm switch in the dash...seems like they would have put it in a less obvious/less accessible place...
curious to see what Toyota has to tell you...not even sure if they had remotes that early probably just a delay on the door switch ties to the motion detector

Lol, I know right? an On/OFF switch even.. What the heck ? It seems operable. Light is off during operation of the 4R, but on ...and flashing quickly when locked up. I also have little warning stickers on the windows. The sites selling FOBs.. seem to start at 1990.. :/

does the alarm go off if you open the door (doors unlocked)?
roll the window down and toss something in there or wave you hand in it to test the motion detector...just curious if it works as intended. if the remote is unavailable maybe at least move the switch somewhere else but still have the flashing LED to show tempted lowlifes that it is 'protected'.
Seems like 20+ years later more effective stuff is available on the market..but if works no sense in replacing it...

I'm curious too... The '88 4Runner I'm parting out has this same 'factory' alarm installed. The motion detector is appealing for when the top is off.

Well, I haven't talked to Toyota yet, but I did try rolling down the window while it was locked and waving my arms.. throwing stuff in.. etc.. I got nothing to happen. There aren't any horns in the engine compartment either. I should have checked the module for some numbers ... I'll probably end up taking seat out again to check it. I'll keep you all posted.

I had the same setup in an 89 sr5 4x4 ext cab pickup. Never had a fob or even got it to work, but I remember a couple times I would turn the truck off and it would that old School alarm armed sound. I'm looking for a keyless entry setup for my 1st gen now. Any ideas?
