First Mob Half Doors

Just got a set of used doors not a bad score at $25 a piece. Took them to a buddies and used his plasma cutter to cut them down to make half doors. I have attached pics of the process so far will have more tomorrow when we weld them back up. We lined it out on the door on the truck and then measured both sides and started cutting. I then measured the openings and sheered of some pieces of mild steel and made templates to make the insert pieces. I will have pics of all that in the afternoon tomorrow and will post them.

Mock ups for the roof rack

The next pics are of setting up the roof rack everything has been made so that it can come off very easily but also retain its rigidity.

Half doors

I just realised that I have not put the rest of the pics up of the half doors that are now finished and were on all summer. Please if there are any questions feel free to ask.

Half door pics

I am including pics of how I did the latches this is a style usually used on race car doors. The doors are fully functional and worked great! Just be careful of anything sitting on the seat in a quick turn it will end up out on the road.

wheel upgrade to K5 aluminum rims

I got a 6 set of K5 aluminum rims and milled them out to be able to use them on my 4 Runner. Some of them had some corrosion so I bought some duplicolor bed liner paint at the local auto store and painted them up. It has been on almost a year now and holding up well. attacked are before and after shots
