I've heard our trucks have normal injector / valve ticking from the motor. I made a video of my truck and what it sounds like, could anyone verify the nature of the sound?

Doesn't sound normal to me. Might be time to adjust the valves.....

How many miles?

 

sounds mechanical...... could it be an exhaust leak though ?

 

173k. Recorded with my iPhone, it does a good job of amplifying the noise.

 

could be valve clearance, which would be this loud.

could be injectors, this loud too...

take a steth-o-scope and poke around for the location where the sound is loudest, if you don't have a fancy scope use a piece of 3/8 inch tubing held to the noise and to you ear, this should put you fears to rest, about what it is

if its coming from an injector consider replacing it as its probably got a worn valve seat, done if its coming from under a valve cover, time to get to work!!!
