I have an 89 4runner with the stock bumper and have been trying to think of some lighting ideas for use in the gaps on either side of the front license plate.

Anybody found fog/DRL/driving lights that fit there well?

Great Idea. I am thinking of the same. I believe the vent area is about 1.5" tall and 4" long.

i did this with a cheap set from orielys and the turnd out really good excpet i couldnt aim them up i the pic u can see them no its not the best picture but its the best one i have it worked good till i hit a camary

 

Ive been looking at these for the very same purpose:

They take an H3 bulb and Ive even been looking at a 100watt replacement bulb on eBay. Unless you could mount them upside down, you'd have to WabFab a bracket.
