3VZ-E 3.0 Head Gasket Replacement in vehicle. Exhaust Xover pipe removal help

this is a joke right? the FSM simply says remove the bolts on the exhaust crossover pipe. they must be assuming the motor is out of the vehicle. is this even possible with the motor in? with as big a problem these head gaskets are im surprised noone has done a full writeup. probably because they just have the recall work done but this one's already had that once. any suggestions?

One cylinder is "dry" others are black or sludgy

just took the heads off a 94 ho'runner to replace.... you guessed it, another blown head gasket! here's some things i noticed, let me know what you think this may mean. all but one piston is black and has a light sludgyness, the cylinder closest to the passenger seat has about 2-3 times more sludgy buildup than the others. the cylinder closest to the driver is clean, light brown tint. the spark plug has quite a bit of cauliflower looking buildup on the j shaped part of the plug while all the others look rather normal. whats going on here?

The clean pistons is the cyl that had the failed headgasket. Coolant was steam cleaning that piston. As for the others sounds like a little rich, maybe because the coolant in the exhaust was messing with 02 sensor and it thought the engine was running lean.

Assuming this is a 3.0? since your referencing passenger and drivers side?

yes 3.slow the thing is, it's not the cylinder that had the leak...
