What would You Pay for a, 85 SR5 4runner??

Like the title says an 85 4runner SR-5 (yes a sr-5)? It is - a 1 owner (buying from original owner) - Completely stock down to the original floor mats and wheels - Less than 150,000 original miles with no rebuild but timing chain replaced at 100,000 - All the service records to date (besides diy oil changes) - Interior is 7 out of 10. Has a cig burn in seat, one crack in dash, and a few stains in the carpet here and there - Everything works including the air condition and the rear window - Top never removed. The only thing that this truck needs is a paint job because of sun damage. Zero rust aswell!! Anyways I am going to make a serious offer to this guy in the next few days so I wanted to get some SERIOUS opinions from fellow yota friends. Keep in mind this truck is a peach but the paint is gone. No major body work is needed just paint and maybe a few door dings here and there. Original chrome is good to. Thanks for all the help fellows. Please post serious opinions and I also know this is based on my description to you.

I just want opinions on what I posted. I know its hard to give a solid $number on what I said in my post so I am just looking for a ballpark figure. It only needs a paint job to be a complete 7 out of 10. 10 being complete restoration IMO. Are these worth 2,000 or 3,000 or 4,000 or what. I am a first gen guy so I dont spend much time with the others. Thanks

imo, it really depends on the buyer on what its worth to them. people will pay more for something they want and even more if it will take little work to bring it back to where they want it to be. also location will help determine price

I paid $1,500 for a 1985, SR5 sunroof, etc. Everything worked, but it needed a clutch. It has 150,000 miles on it. The paint is excellent, original, but it does have a little wheel well rust starting. Interior on mine is clean, no rips, tears, dash is perfect. If I was guessing without seeing it, I'd say between $1,500 and $2,000 tops.

Your offer for who? What is the point of this post? He asks a legit question, and gets answers like this?

sight unseen, with your description, around here it would go for about 2500-3500. The whole low to no rust, lower miles are positive points and it would be a solid foundation for a nice driver wheeler. If i was in your shoes bring 3000 and start offering low maybe like 2000 or even 1500. Kinda depends if the person selling the vehicle knows what he has.

Well I drove up and took a look at the 4runner today. Guy was asking 4,800 and I talked him down to 4,200. I couldnt bring myself to buy it for that. It did have an 8000lb. ramsey winch that was a plus but not at 4,200. I would have given him 3,200 for it and that is it.
