Questions on a paint color?

i'm trying to get a SPECIFIC color (or really close to it) for my wheels.

these are my wheels

and this is the color i'm going for

if you can't see it very well.. you can google "black chrome" or "knight Chrome"

i'm wanting something just similar to that...as i know i won't be able to get EXACT with spray paint.

i thought maybe a Metallic "chrome" spray paint laid on the wheels first, a few coats of it, then maybe lay down a few coats of a VHT Night Shades Tailight lens paint?

i'm thinking the Night Shades paint because it's translucent...so maybe it would Darken the "Chrome" paint? basically giving me a "hopefully" shiny gunmetal grey/knight chrome look?????

I'm just trying to be different...i kinda like how they look right now, but i want to paint them, the color right now just isn't pleasant and it's got a lot of stained spots that i can't remove and scratches and all kinds of stuff..i would paint them black..but everyone does black?

yea i've been lookin at gunmetal grey spray paints and they don't seem to be shiny enough...but if i painted gunmetal grey over a "chrome" it would just be gunmetal grey...

yeah true but you could try using the gun metal grey and a lil bit of clear coat to shine it up a bit

camo, that came right off the top of my head, I remember seeing this stuff on truck u or some sort of spike show. But I think for it to work properly you should brighten up the polish on the wheel first.

i'm going to try polishing my wheels and see how that works.

if it doesn't work out well..which i honestly don't think it will, then i'll likely end up just going crazy with some paint.

i've seen good stuff on how to get the duplicolor chrome paint to look halfway decent. so my paint layers will go like this.

1.two coats of primer.
2.two coats of gloss black rustoleum.
3.3-4 coats of Chrome.
4.probably 3 coats of the "shadow chrome".
5.probably 2-3 coats of good clear.

i'm thinkin one can of everything...so around $25-$28 of paint..only because the shadow chrome paint is like $18.....
