My GF's good friend has a 00 Limited with 154xxx miles and she told me the other day she did not hear the early morning roar of the engine, even as cold it has been. I checked it and her fan clutch failed the magazine test with flying colors. I even hooked up the Scangauge and the temps were 195~201 at low speeds. Since I was able to get a new OEM clutch for under $60 off Ebay, I am going to replace the fan bracket as well but could not find the torque specs for installing the new fan bracket in the FSM. I'm guessing somewhere between 12~18 ft/lbs. I know the 2UZ-FE fan bracket has 4 bolts, where two are torqued to 12ft/lbs and the other two are 24ft/lbs. Any ideas for the 5ZE-FE?

I'll snap a few pics when I do this. I know The Durk posted a great write up on installing his new clutch last year.

 

Fan to clutch: 65 in.-lbs.
Fan/clutch/pulley to fan bracket: 48 inch-lbs. (This one is impossible to get a normal torque wrench on, I just did them by guess, doing my best to be consistent. Been fine since July.)

I can't find the bracket to engine spec either. I think when I did my TB, I did the same as the WP bolts and everything similar~14 ft-lbs.

 

^x2 ... I use the same 14 ft-lbs for the bracket to engine spec. It seems to be about the only spec not listed in the FSMs I've looked at.

 

If I have enough time to play with it, I may just increase the torque on my wrench until I can get the bolts to move ever so slightly clockwise. Then I'll post the torque numbers for future reference. 14ft/lbs seems about right give or take.

Good idea....I'm guessing somewhere between 14 and 20ft-lbs assuming they were torqued correctly the last time it was apart.
