I just bought a 95 4runner that was supposed to have the motor from a 98 out of it. I was given all the paper work to try and back this up but I am a little weary about this. I'm certain I have a 3.0 but I'm wondering if the top end of a 3.0 will somehow work with the bottom end of a 3.4
I am also wondering if they ever used a 3vze motor in a 98 because it plainly states on the front of the block that it is a 3vze. I've read that a 3.4 block is the same only bored more than a 3.0
The paperwork showed that the 98 engine cost $1600...does that sound about right?

Help me out here gear heads...any advice or info is more than welcome

3.4 is a 95.5 plus motor that came in the 96-02 4Runners and 95.5-04 Tacomas.

Obvious visual difference in the 2.
