22re has no power

I have a 94 pickup with a 22re with a 5speed. When the engine is cold the truck has no power, I mean it feels like I have a lawnmower engine under the hood. Then at about 3500rpm it "clears out" and takes off like a bat out of hell. It doesn't like to idle either. When it warms completely the truck runs fine. It does the same thing when it rains or right after I spray the truck down with a powerwasher. Sorry If this topic has been covered. I couldn't find the answers I was looking for. thanks in advance

check your spark plug wires. One could be split a lil bit and let moisture in. I had that problem on my other toy. It would spit and sputter then clear up aftrer a min or so. Then it got to the point where it was hard to get started.
