rear pinion seal

Hey there everyone, im a newby, i live in oregon and have an 86 extra cab efi with 6 inch suspension lift nothing fancy just bought it about 4 weeks ago...former jeeper..but having some issues engine will not turn over every once in a while...replaced the starter...still does it...and my rear pinion seal was, is leaking...i replaced it today and cleaned of my breather valve drove it home and it still leaks any ideas anything would help at this point??????

Pinion seal shouldn't leak if replaced with new oem seal.
FSM shows exactly how to do it.

Lots of starter help threads. Sounds like bad connector wiring/spade.

Oh, and BTW I'd give it a few miles. It might stop on it's own. Once the sealing lip gets flattened out a little bit more.

didnt come with factory service manual...winging everything i do to this on research from web pages and you guys...but find it weird it still leaks

In my experience, not so strange. The lip is rather sharply pointed when brand new, once it flattens out a bit it might seal better/stop leaking.
