plz help! '86 22re #2 plug wire vibrating, metallic tinking sound in engine

i looked all over for any other posts on this with no luck. my engine has been sounding a little rougher and i initially chalked it up to the excessive cold in ct, but i was topping off the brake fluid the other day and i noticed the #2 plug wire vibrating at the boot, alot. so i touched it and i can clearly feel the vibration in the wire, also, listening closely with the hood open i can hear what sounds like a small piece of metal getting bounced around in the engine, possibly in the valve cover? it's not rhythmic in any way, but regular, maybe a dozen times in a minute. but it's super faint, so maybe not a large piece of metal? at any rate the truck runs ok, it seems a little less powerful, maybe, but i have no idea what this could be - a chipped valve? a broken plug? any ideas and input will be greatly appreciated. thank you!

On my old head I had problems with the #4 plug all the time. PO trashed a few rows of the threads and a spark plug never wanted to stay tight. First time I blow a sparkplug I thought the time chain jumped a tooth. After that I know every 7-10k miles check my plugs.

The new EB head I've been running for 3+ years doesn't have that problem.
