22RE Running Rich?

My 22re has been acting up a little lately and I was hoping you guys could help me pin point the problem. I have noticed a decrease in fuel mileage from 22mpg to about 17mpg first off. Then every now and then when I'm driving around 1800 rpm it will fall flat on its face and just stay at 1800 rpm for a few seconds then start again. Then the last problem it is having is when I go to start it up sometimes, it won't start and I'll have to let it sit then crank it over for a minute or two for it to start. When this happens, you can smell gas from the outside and it smells like it's running really rich. It's nothing that has compromised the reliability of the truck so far just gets annoying sometimes.

The things I would check first are:

1. Cold Start injector time switch. See if it is in spec.
2. How is the coolant temp. Sometimes if the t-stat is stuck open the engine will never get up to operating temp. The computer will dump more fuel thinking the truck is still cold.
3. Check the timing, both cam and ignition.
